چکیده

Extracting allelochemicals from rice (Oryza sativa) straw and use for weed management is more sustainable than burning reduces herbicide dependence. Water soluble compounds were extracted shoots roots of OM 5930, generating both a crystallized by-product liquid extract. Crystallized product was applied to soil with pre-germinated barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli L. Beauv), red sprangletop (Leptochloa chinensis Nees), grass-like fimbry (Fimbristylis miliacea Vahl) seeds. As little as 9.4 g per pot (1 ton ha?1 biomass) reduced survival all species, the order sensitivity (BG) < (RS) grasslike-fimbry (GF). Increased rates or time exposure (3 42 days after treatment; DAT) resulted in stepwise reduction seed survival. Using extract, 5.33 pot?1 tons BG by 49.8%, while 2.67 RS GF 49.7 54.3%, respectively at DAT. A rate 8 seedlings 78.3% but lethal seedlings. The most abundant present ergosterol peroxide, p-coumaric acid, salicylic acid. 5930 promising variety extraction allelopathic application extended herbicidal activity.

Post-Flood Tank-Mix Combinations with Cyhalofop (Clincher) for Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) Control in Rice

Post-flood applications of Clincher controlled tillered barnyardgrass from 65 to 85% when evaluated from 2 to 4 weeks after treatment. Grandstand, 2,4-D amine, and Blazer all caused reduction in control of barnyardgrass when tank-mixed with cyhalofop early after application. Clincher applied alone at 0.28 lb/acre controlled barnyardgrass 96% 8 weeks after treatment. Barnyardgrass control with C...

Anaerobic Metabolism in Germinating Seeds of Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyard Grass) : METABOLITE AND ENZYME STUDIES.

Echinochloa crus-galli, a problem weed in rice fields, has the rare ability to germinate and to grow in a totally oxygen-free environment. After 7 days growth in the light or dark under N(2), E. crus-galli var. oryzicola produces a 2- to 3-centimeter nonpigmented shoot.Ethanol, malate, and lactate were measured in seeds germinated under N(2) and air, and compared with changes in the activities ...

De novo Assembly and Characterization of the Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) Transcriptome Using Next-Generation Pyrosequencing

BACKGROUND Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) is an important weed that is a menace to rice cultivation and production. Rapid evolution of herbicide resistance in this weed makes it one of the most difficult to manage using herbicides. Since genome-wide sequence data for barnyardgrass is limited, we sequenced the transcriptomes of susceptible and resistant barnyardgrass biotypes using the 4...

Bioherbicidal potential of essential oil from leaves of Eucalyptus tereticornis against Echinochloa crus - galli L

The present study was undertaken to explore the bioherbicidal potential of essential oil(EO)(25 to 250μg/ml) from Eucalyptus tereticornis against one of the major weed of rice (Oryza sativa L.), i.e. Echinochloa crus – galli L. considering percent germination, root length and shoot length development chlorophyll, protein and carbohydrate content and percent cellular respiration). Studies reveal...

Optimizing the Performance of Imazethapyr in Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli Beauv) Control by Vegetable Oils Adjuvants

To study the effects of vegetable oils on the performance of Imazethapyr (a herbicide with a relatively high amount of residue in the soil and environment) in barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli Beauv) control, a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with four replications was conducted in the Research Greenhouse of College of Agriculture, Birjand University, Birjand, Ira...
